What Does Typical Car Service Include?

Mazda service

Your car consists of multiple moving parts and fluids running through the system. These components don’t last indefinitely. The purpose of routine Mazda service is to ensure your vehicle remains in peak operating condition. When you schedule maintenance, what types of service are included?

Oil Change

Dirty oil impacts engine performance and mileage. Upon an inspection, the technician will perform an oil change if required. Alternatively, they may recommend a more comprehensive oil flush if the oil is exceptionally filthy.

Air Filter Replacement

Air has to be pure before it goes into the engine’s combustion chamber. A full service will include a checkup of the air filter and a replacement if the unit is visibly worn.

Ignition System Inspection

The ignition system includes parts like the spark plug, wires, and distributor caps. These components are all critical and must work in unison to provide spark to the engine cylinders. A technician will inspect each of these parts for wear and tear.

Fuel Filter Replacement

The fuel filter keeps contaminants out of the fuel the same way the air filter keeps airborne debris from entering the engine. Servicing includes a check of the fuel filter and a replacement if it’s worn. You may also notice symptoms of a dirty fuel filter, such as stalling and slow acceleration.

How Often Do I Need Car Servicing?

Most experts recommend general maintenance every 30,000 to 45,000 miles. However, your driving habits also play a big role. Your car may require more frequent servicing if you subject your vehicle to severe driving conditions, such as regular heavy towing or frequent idling.
