As stated above, three different four-cylinder engines are available with the new Mazda3. Base models feature a 2.0-liter engine that puts out 155 horsepower and comes only in front-wheel drive. The next jump up is a 2.5-liter engine that produces 186 horsepower and opens up the option for all-wheel drive.

For drivers who want an engine that packs a punch, the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine is the way to go. This perky powertrain makes 250 horsepower, and a six-speed manual setup is available with the front-wheel drive configuration—all-wheel drive comes with an automatic transmission.

Technology and Connectivity

A standard 8.8-inch infotainment display graces each trim level in the 2022 Mazda3. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ capabilities are available on higher trim levels; a 12-speaker Bose system and SiriusXM satellite radio are available for an extra charge as well.
