1. Axles

The axles are what allows the tires to turn when you move the steering wheel. Without the axles, your car can only move in a straight line.

They also have the secondary function of supporting the car’s weight. Damaged axles make the vehicle more difficult to turn, not to mention they may also cause the car to drift in one direction. This is a serious safety hazard.

2. Pistons

The engine’s pistons consist of multiple cast iron parts that move like a battering ram within a cylinder. The pistons create a continuous push-pull force that creates power for the engine.

It also performs a number of other functions, such as providing power to the steering pump and generating torque for the wheels. Without the pistons, there’s no power generated in the engine, and the car ceases to function.

3. Radiator

The radiator has the extremely important responsibility of keeping the engine from overheating. It does this by sending coolant to the engine where the fluid acts as a heat absorber.

The coolant shuttles back to the radiator where it cools down before being sent back to repeat the cycle. When smoke emits from the hood, that’s a sign that the radiator has failed. This is either due to a faulty issue or not having ample coolant levels.
