How are MAZDA Parts Recycled?

Did you know that a lot of old Mazda parts and cars get recycled and are used to make new cars? In addition to not filling up junkyards, this results in other benefits.
First, it helps the environment, as not as much mining and metal production is needed, which lowers emissions. Secondly, this helps automakers keep their costs down, and these savings are passed on to the consumer.
The Auto Recycling Process
In order to recycle old cars and parts, this involves five steps:
- Taking Out Fluids: The first step in the recycling process is to take out any fluids in the old car and get rid of them properly.
- Removing Usable Parts: Now, any components that can be reused will be taken out. Sometimes things like the tires or battery are still in good condition. Others may need to be rebuilt or repaired in order to be reused.
- Shredding and Crushing: The frame will then be shredded once all valuable parts are removed. Then it will be crushed into a cube.
- Mixing Metals: To strengthen the scrap metal, it will be mixed with other metals.
- Shipped Out: The final step is to ship out the cube to a carmaker so they can turn it into a new vehicle.
