Automatic Transmission

Mazda vehicles with automatic transmission allow you to stop-and-go effortlessly as the gears shift on their own for optimal performance on any road. Automatic transmission makes vehicles easier to drive and tend to work better than manual transmission in heavy traffic and areas with hills. There are two types of automatic transmissions: traditional and dual clutch. 

Traditional automatic transmissions are connected to the engine via torque converter while dual-clutch automatic transmissions are connected to the engine with two clutches used to shift between the car’s gears.

Nearly every Mazda model comes with the option for automatic transmision, like the Mazda CX-9 and upcoming Mazda CX-50.

Manual Transmission

Manual transmissions are a bit more difficult to drive but can be rewarding for seasoned drivers who want precise control over their vehicle. Mazda vehicles with manual transmission must be manually adjusted by the driver in accordance with the car’s speed and the conditions of the road. Though it requires a bit more involvement on the driver’s part, manual transmission tends to be more fuel efficient and cost less than automatic transmissions.
